Dr Polla Roux

Surgeon

Dr. Polla Roux was the head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Pretoria University, and the Professor / Chief Consultant at the Pretoria Academic Hospital for 21 years, where he acquired extensive experience in a wide field of ophthalmology. Areas of expertise include Lasik, cataracts, diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, all types of retinal diseases and the full spectrum of ocular surgery including oculoplastics, orbital and lacrimal surgery.

Background

Dr Muller and I go back many, many years when he was under my mentorship as an ophthalmological student. We re-connected recently, when he invited me to take over his practice. While I was deeply saddened by the circumstances surrounding his retirement, I considered it a great honor to be asked to continue with the outstanding legacy he had created at Visiomed.

When I took over his practice, I discovered that Dr Muller had left big shoes to fill; I do not take this challenge lightly. Therefore I want to reassure you our valued patients, that the transition would be as painless as possible, I made sure that all the same friendly staff would still be there to greet you, helping me to continue to assist you with the same high standards of expertise, professionalism, diligence and care.
